Our Story

Andalucian Ranch is a family-owned and -operated farm seeking to bring a piece of our family traditions to the beautiful, historic town of Bellville, Texas.

The day-to-day operations of our ranch are the responsibility of Youssef who, with his wife Giovana by his side, seeks to build a sustainable farm and homestead rooted in the permaculture ethics of earth care, people care, and fair share.

We grow fresh produce from our farm in Bellville, Texas. We believe in a healthy, sustainable, and flavorful food chain that starts in our soil and ends in the hands and mouths of our community.

We seek to give our customers a variety of fruits and vegetables and new ways to experience both familiar and unfamiliar locally-grown flavors. We hope to expand people’s palates, while inviting them to challenge notions of existing food chains – interacting, instead, with local farms that provide seasonal produce.

Our Name

While our name might seem unfamiliar to most, it is very near and dear to our hearts. Our family history is one that is filled with emigration. We trace our ancestry back to Andalusia Spain (Andalucía in Spanish) where our family was part of a strong community that valued education, culture, and agronomy among other pursuits. Some of the world’s leading agricultural innovations were born out of the region, impacting not only the way we grow food but also the varying culinary traditions across the Mediterranean.

These traditions were further enriched when our family emigrated south to Morocco, integrating and adopting North African and Berber elements to our way of life. For generations, our family has become fully Moroccan while still maintaining our unique ancestral identity.

Finally, we transplanted to our current home in Texas where, again, we seek to assimilate cultures - becoming fully Texan as we have become fully Moroccan - while bringing a piece of Andalucia to our ranch here in Texas.
